Abstract: Reports on a celebration of the achievement of Health Canada's National Health Research and Development Program (NHRDP) which closed in December, 2000. How the program helped develop comprehensive research and training programs; Plans for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to take over several functions of the NHRDP; Intention of the CIHR to bring together researchers from different disciplines.
