Abstract

The article focuses on Canadian Jewish preaching. It says that the language used in delivering Jewish sermons serves as a cultural adaptation marker in the new environment. Furthermore, it also mentions rebuke as one of the most important duties of a preacher. It also notes that sermons delivered during crisis such as war and epidemic represent solidarity and patriotism. The attitudes of Rabbis Yudel Rosenberg and Hirsch Cohen toward Zionism are also mentioned.
