Abstract

The drift tube temperature of an evaporative light-scattering detector for inorganic anions and cations response has been evaluated. The results of the detector are independent of temperature in the range studied (40-80°C) for cations, sulfate, and phosphate, but the responses for chloride and nitrate decrease when tube temperature increases. We also studied the effect of nebulizing gas temperature on the response of the evaporative light-scattering detector and noted a 200% improvement of the intensity of the signal.
