Abstract
- The article presents a discussion and analysis of the political and social writings of the British-American political scientist Thomas Paine. Details are given regarding Paine's lifelong career in political and social commentary, highlighting his rivalry with fellow writer Edmond Burke and examining his central influence on the discourse of the American and French Revolutions. Additional discussion is given outlining the primary ideological features of his major works "Common Sense" and "The Age of Reason."
