Abstract

The article focuses on the extensible business reporting language (XBRL), a markup language used to prepare, publish, exchange and analyze financial statements and the information they contain. the author describes XBRL as an alternative method for preparing financial statements.the author reports on the implications of enabling of a report to be sent directly to another computer. Information is presented about the acceleration of the speed at which information can be analyzed and the effects of technological innovations on business.
