Reciprocity and Adaptation in U.S.-China Foreign Policy Making.

What does the history of U.S.-China foreign policy making tell us about the future relationship between the most powerful country and the largest and fastest growing developing country? Does bilateral reciprocity promote cooperation? Is there any adaptive pattern in the foreign policy making between the two countries?
