The article offers a look at various manuscripts on proteomics and molecular interaction that were published after the publication of guidelines specifying the minimum reporting requirements for papers on such topics in an effort to analyze the impediments to data disclosure. The analysis found that guideline authors published at least one manuscript in 2008 but no accompanying data were archived. The issues surrounding proteomics research reporting are explored. Ways to promote data disclosure among proteomics researchers are also cited.
