Abstract: Presents information on the development of the least mean square (LMS) algorithm, which converge in a statistically sense to global minimum of the mean square error (MSE) objective function, while indicating approximation by a variable noise source to the infinite impulse response (IIR-LMS) algorithm. Performance improvement of the IIR-LMS algorithm over the Steiglitz-McBride algorithm; Investigation of the use of stochastic global-optimization methods.
