Abstract
- The article discusses the phylogenetic relationships of Croton section Cyclostigma using nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and plastid spacer trnL-F sequences. It notes that the two gene phylogenies show similar findings that section Cyclostigma sensu Webster is polyphyletic, with its members appearing in the nine different clades of Croton. It mentions that ITS and chloroplast phylogenies indicate different argument regarding the position of the redefined section Cyclostigma.
