The present paper gives recommendations for developing researches oriented to improve prediction of solids concentration in sludge obtained by gravitational sedimentation. In thickener plant of PSA- Moa Nickel S.A. Company this prediction is studied by means of the historical, logical and passive experimentation methods. It is concluded that in order to solve the problem concerning the prediction of the solids concentration in sludge obtained by gravitational sedimentation, it is advisable to focus the research to the theoretical and empiric study of statistical correlation between this variable and the solids concentration obtained by others mechanical separation methods.
