Abstract

The article discusses ramifications that have resulted due to efforts made by lobbyist Ron Book to stimulate legislation against U.S. sex offenders. The impetus for his career stems from an experience that Book had with a nanny who molested his daughter. Laws resulting from his efforts have led to sex offenders being perceived as social pariahs and excluded from entire cities. The author examines a group of sex offenders who have been forced to live beneath a bridge in Miami, Florida.
