Abstract

The article explores the relation between social and behavioral indicators and HIV, herpes simplex virus-2 (HSV-2), and/or Chlamydia-discordant sexual partnership. The characteristics of respondents were identified by analyzing the data collected in a social network study in Bushwick, New York City. Results show that HSV-2 and Chlamydia discordance were linked with sexual behavior, including multiple partnerships, while HIV partnership discordance is mainly associated with injection drug use.
