Abstract
- This article focuses on the incidence related to civil disobedience in the book "The Pickwick Papers" by Charles Dickens. In chapter 22 of the book, the character of Pickwick mistakenly enters the wrong room in a hotel and encounters a woman. In chapter 24, Pickwick's traveling companion Magnus introduces him to his betrothed, Miss Witherfield, who turns out to be same lady he had encountered the night before. The later chapters explore Pickwick's encounter with the law and civil disobedience.
