Abstract
- In the June 1997 issue of this journal Lorna Unwin and Jerry Wellington published a paper which described a piece of research which sought to evaluate a pack of materials designed to increase the personal effectiveness of students. In this paper the author of these materials, which were the focus of the research, explains their origin, nature, aims and outcomes. At their centre is the Personal Effectiveness Programme Initiative (PEPI) model. This model involves the identification and systematic development of five core skills, seen as most relevant for the particular pupil target group. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
