Abstract
- The article presents an overview of the situation of National bibliographies in Africa. It cites several National bibliographies listing works written by colonial administrators, researchers or librarians including Bibliographie du Congo 1880-1895 published by Alphonse Jules Wauters and Ad Buyl in 1895, and Bibliographie de Madagascar 1905 by Guillaume Grandidier. It notes that some African bibliographies suffer delay in distribution and irregularity in issuing.
