Abstract: The article reports on the white paper prepared by the Closing the Addiction Treatment Gap (CATG) initiative which revealed that addiction treatments would save billions in treatment costs. It states that the paper "Unforeseen Benefits: Addiction Treatment Reduces Health Care Costs" includes an estimated 23 million Americans who suffer from alcohol and drug addiction. It adds that only one in ten drug dependents gets treatment whereby reducing the expenditures from the health care funds.
