Abstract

A conference paper on the business strategies employed by special libraries to prevent budget cuts during recession is presented. It tackles the study which evaluates the effectiveness of these strategies using literature review, case studies and a survey of 113 special librarians who works in special libraries in Washington D.C. as its methodology. Results shows that 61% of the respondents has faced serious budget cuts and two of four libraries that were studied successfully prevented cutbacks.
