- The article focuses on Brian Tierney, publisher of the "Philadelphia Inquirer" and "Philadelphia Daily News" newspapers. The newspapers declared bankruptcy in in February, 2009. On September 15, 2009, a bankruptcy court will hear arguments on Tierney's plan to settle with creditors who are owed $300 million and wish to seize control of the newspapers.
