Abstract

Since their inaugural season in 2001, the Brooklyn Cyclones have been a remarkable success story: locals have embraced the minor league club for returning baseball to the borough after a nearly half-century absence, as overflow crowds have poured into the Coney Island ballpark year after year. Winning has not hurt either: the Cyclones have missed the playoffs only three times in their nine-year history. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
