Assessing HIV Risk in Workplaces for Prioritizing HIV Preventive Interventions in Karnataka State, India.

The article presents a study that assesses the risk of HIV in work environment for prioritizing the HIV preventive intervention program in the economic sectors in Karnataka State, India. It reveals the conduct of three-stage survey to determine high-risk sectors and to assess the need and feasibility of the program in economic sectors of India. It reveals the best partial knowledge of workers in all sectors regarding HIV/AIDS as well as common misconceptions on its transmission.
