History of violence and betrayal.

The article looks at the attack led by militia in student dormitories at the University of Tehran, Iran in the summer of 2009 and the repression experienced by other higher education institutions at the hands of authorities. It recalls the killing of three students in December 1953 while participating in a demonstration against the state visit by then U.S. President Richard Nixon. Also noted is the failure of the Western countries to provide support to Iranian universities.
