Abstract
- Interviews with pianists Leon Fleisher, Anthony Goldstone, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Barry Douglas and Alfredo Perl about their memories of piano teacher Maria Curcio are presented. Douglas remembers playing piano lessons with Curcio while Fleisher describes Curcio's music making as the most powerfully human kind, something with a sense of optimism, joy and quality. Perl refers to sound as the main aspect of Curcio's teaching while Aimard refers to her knowledge in piano playing as an achievement. Goldstone admires the life and playfulness in her playing.
