Abstract
- The article features marathon runner Second Lieutenant (2Lt.) Karissa Goodrich of the U.S. Air Force (USAF) Marathon Team. She started running as a hobby at the age of 14, later to burn calories and stay fit. She has run in five marathons, including the 2004 Los Angeles (LA) Marathon. She placed first in the 2007 and 2008 USAF Marathons' female category and military female division. She considers the USAF Marathon as one of the better organized races she has joined.
