MAPPING THE EPIGENOME.

The article discusses the development of epigenomic analysis techniques to reveal chemical changes of DNA and its packaging proteins histones without altering gene expression. It states that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Roadmap Epigenomics Program funds development of mapping epigenetic technologies and founding of epigenome mapping centers. One of these technologies funded by NIH was Steven Henikoff's CATCH-IT (Covalent Attachment of Tags to Capture Histones and Identify Turnover).
