Investigates whether L-glutamate is secreted through exocytosis by clonal mouse pancreatic alpha-cells. Expression of receptors and transporters by pancreatic islet cells for L-glutamate and use it as an intercellular signaling molecule; Release of L-glutamate from cultured cells after the addition of potassium chloride in the presence of calcium and glucose in the medium.
