Abstract

The article reports on a study by Colleen McLaughlin and Barbie Clarke which discovers that teenagers, who have poor relationships with their teachers, are to develop anxiety and depression. Researchers reviewed 133 academic papers to find out the impact of school on the mental health of pupils. They indicated that schools that focused on improving teacher-pupil relations have higher standards of behaviour than those schools which do not. INSET: Class conflict.
