Abstract

The article focuses on the study entitled "It's Not How Much; It's How" which investigates the characteristics of effective practicing. It explores how the study was conducted and relates how the researchers ranked the performances of the 17 graduate and advanced undergraduate piano major students based on the criteria. It outlines how the researchers have identified the biggest difference between the two groups and how they handled errors. It relates the importance of preparing for a practice to discuss the things to do and to correct mistakes as well as to make the performance perfect.
