Abstract
- The article discusses a controversy involving journalists Riccardo Ehrman and Peter Brinkmann. At a November, 1989 press conference East German official Gunter Schabowski's confused answers to questions about the status of travel abroad for East Germans lead to events that permanently opened the Berlin Wall. Both Ehrman and Brinkmann claim to be the journalist who elicited Schabowski's responses.
