Abstract
- In this article the author discusses the similarity of the benthic Bolivina variabilis and planktic Streptochilus globigerus. He claims that the plankton is one particular species of foraminifer, which is a single-celled, testate protist. He explains that their profound similarity has provided the fact that plaplanktic lineages may have evolved multiple times from benthic ancestors since Jurassic time.
