Abstract
- This article reports on the move of AIDS scientists to question the results of a study that found the first vaccine against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Conducted by researchers from the U.S. Army and Thailand, the study concluded that the vaccine is effective in protecting people against HIV. AIDS scientists said a second analysis of the study showed the results may have been a fluke. Jerome Kim, a scientist with the U.S. Army, said they stand with the results.
