Two research groups build tiny plasmon lasers.

The article reports on the announcement on the development of Cornell dot laser from the researchers at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia, and the Berkeley laser from the researchers at the University of California at Berkeley, California. It has been cited that the Cornell dot laser works with the use of a pump laser which intends to excite dry molecules. On the other hand, the functioning of the Berkeley laser will depend on surface plasmons.
