Abstract
- The article discusses a report from the inspector general for the U.S. Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) that contradicts previous claims by Goldman Sachs Group Inc. that Goldman faced no material losses in the event American International Group (AIG) collapsed. According to the report Goldman may have substantially over-valued assets it held to protect itself against defaults on insurance purchased from AIG.
