Abstract

The article explains the clinical and research context of informed consent in off-label use and informed consent on incapacitated persons. As stated, in clinical context, the physician-patient relationship is aimed at benefiting the individual patient and the treatment does not follow a study protocol, unlike in the research context. Also, in the clinical context, the physician is bound to apply approved labeled and off-label therapy, which is not required in research context.
