Abstract

The article presents the results of a longitudinal study which investigated muscle strength and gender differences in police officers. The study protocol involved comparing the body weights, bench pressing abilities and body fat percentages of officers between 1990 and 2007. It was found that police officers tended to gain strength into their late thirties, but their relative rankings tended to remain constant.
