Abstract

The article discusses the decision of Clorox Co. to stop the production of its bleach made from chlorine and sodium hydroxide to improve the product's security. It notes that the company will convert its plant in Fairfield, California and six other plants in the U.S. to use safer chemicals and processes. According to Rick Hind, legislative director of the environmental group Greenpeace, Clorox Co. has made an intelligent business decision of eradicating the risks from using chlorine.
