Abstract
- The article discusses a study which investigated the palatability and nutritive value of native legumes to sheep as well as their importance for prairie restoration and grazing in the Upper Midwest. Materials and methods included the establishment of a Waukegan silt loam soil in Saint Paul, Minnesota in 1997. Several charts are also presented, including one that shows height, growth stage, leafiness and palatability of perennial legumes as determined by sheep in 1998.
