Abstract

The article presents a study which evaluates the cases of Treponema pallidum resistance to azithromycin in Madagascar. It states that the study is designed to record the number of patients who experienced therapeutic failure with azithromycin as there have been similar cases documented in the U.S., Canada, and Ireland. It centers on 141 individuals with syphilitic lesions. The study found that there are no traces of resistance to azithromycin in specimens from 141 patients.
