Abstract
- The article presents the common problems in conducting a physical examination in geriatric patients. It is stated that the principles are the same in young and old but assessing older people presents several challenges as assistance may be needed due to physical difficulties. It highlights the difficulties in the several assessment areas, including blood pressure taking, neurological assessment and skin evaluation. It also mentions the importance of assessing patient's gait and balance.
