Abstract
- The article reports on the claim of the military lawyers for Ramzi Binalshibh, an accused organizer of the terror attacks in the U.S. on September 11, 2001, and Mustafa al-Hawsawi, the alleged paymaster for the crime, that their clients have mental disorders that make them unfit for trial. These lawyers cited the possibility that the disorders are due to the harsh confinement in Central Intelligence Agency custody. Proof of mental unfitness may force prosecutors to sever the accused from the joint conspiracy trial.
