Abstract

The article analyzes the poem "In Memoriam" by Alfred Tennyson. It focuses on Tennyson's' views on "meaning" and references to Christianity, as the author argues that the persona featured in the poem achieves happiness through consciousness rater than design or supernaturalism. In addition, the author addresses organic imagery and themes related to the human condition within the poem.
