Abstract
- The article discusses the interim policy that must be applied for prosecutions in cases of assisted suicide in Great Britain and its impact on the work of therapists. The consultation paper issued by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) in September 2009 set out the proposed interim policy. It also examines the Suicide Act of 1961 that does not consider suicide or an attempt to do so as a criminal offence. It also presents the views of counsellors and psychotherapists on the policy.
