Abstract
- The article presents an historical examination into the labor politics of the turn of the 20th century along the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. and British Columbia. Details are given highlighting the central theme of transnational labor activism, where Canadian and American working class groups cooperated against the Asian immigrant presence in the area. General remarks are given illustrating the racial polemics of working-class politics in the era. The article then discusses the context of racially oriented class structure in the period's imperialist atmosphere, the growth of aggressive labor activism against Asians, and the communication networks of transnational Anglo-American solidarity.
