Abstract

The article focuses on the Swiss Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Cohort Study regarding the combination antiretroviral therapy's (CART's) toxic effects. The study discusses the treatment modification among individuals infected with 1318 antiretroviral-naive HIV who undergone CART from January 1, 2005 to June 30, 2008. According to the study, 41.5 per 100 persons was the total rate of treatment modification while gastrointestinal tract intolerance was the most frequent toxic effect.
