This paper examines the development of a specialized service at the Center for Technological Information and Management in Holguin: the e-journal Ciencias Holguín. There are examples based on the study carried out since its beginning in 1995 throughout its 15 years of existence, with results of articles published by years, issues and centers up to June 2009, as well as the most prolific authors and the most consulted subjects. There is a description of how the statistical method was applied to analyze the most representative authors and coauthors, the bodies with the most presence and use by countries. Spearman's Rank Correlation Coefficient was applied to the authors with the greatest presence in the journal so as to reveal their correlation level as author and coauthor. Representativeness of authors is assessed and, in its recommendations, there is an appeal to make high-quality information products. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
