Abstract

The article reports on the study which examines the seroprevalence of encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV) in intensive pig farms in China. It notes that the researchers use a microtitre serum neutralisation test (SNT) to determine the epidemiologic circumstance of EMCV. The study found that there is high seroprevalence of EMCV in the major pig farms in China and suggested that control measures should be implemented by the Chinese pig-producing industry.
