The objective of this paper is to present and criticize the theory of knowledge proposed by the Rumanian physicist Basarab Nicolescu in the Manifest, in which the author attempts to summarize his perspective of transdisciplinarity. We consider that this concept is a gnoseological position since it proposes that valid human knowledge is not limited only to scientific knowledge, in which physics has become paradigmatical. Additionally, we believe transdisciplinarity fits quite naturally the General Theory of Systems, in which there is an irrefutable reciprocity between each component and the whole.
