Musical Theatre as High Culture? Discourse on Opera and Operetta During the Late 19th Century.

Information about several papers discussed at the conference entitled "Musical Theatre as High Culture? Discourse on Opera and Operetta During the Late 19th Century" that was held in Zagreb, Croatia from November 24-25, 2006 is presented. Topics include the art of music, the opera during the 19th century and the symmetrical proportions between the stage and audience. The conference was organized by the Croatian Musicological Society in partnership with the European University Viadrina.
