Abstract
- The article offers an experimental and analytical study on the effect of load on elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) film thickness. In the quantitative approach to EHL, accurate and measurable rheological properties of the liquid are used to calculate the behavior of the lubricated concentrated contact. Several advantages of using the quantitative approach to EHL are cited. One of which is understanding differences in performance among liquids of different chemical structure.
