Abstract
- The author reflects on the importance of intelectins as a mediator of allergic airway inflammation. The author provides an overview on how intelectins can be induced by exposing to allergens is offered. It states that human studies show intelectins have a pathogenic role in asthma. The author suggests that mice could be tested in several infectious disease models before considering a treatment for asthma.
