Transference, Countertransference and interpretation: the current debate.

The article focuses on the interpretation of transference and countertransference. According to the authors, interpretation of transference and the use of countertransference can be effective therapeutic tools for therapists and enable them and their clients to shed light on the relationship pattern and problems of their clients. Neurologist Sigmund Freud defined transferences as new editions of facsimiles of the impulses and fantasies which are stimulated and made conscious during the progress of analysis.
